Advances in technology, and assistive technology, are happening at a rapid speed. This Liftware cutlery handle by Liftlabs has the potential to provide people with Parkinson’s disease and other tremor causing conditions independence while enjoying dining and food preparation tasks. The sensors are able to detect the hand tremor and steady what someone holds. The possibility of where this technology can lead is amazing. I would love to be able to try this spoon, and future attachments, out with some people. As with any assistive technology, Liftware wouldn’t be the right solution for every client but it certainly could be a life changer for those whose needs match the features of the spoon. I’ll be following the developments of Liftlabs, that’s for sure.
